Kitchen Chronicles : Chili-Glazed Sticky Ribs

I've been dying to cook ribs since I got my mini oven. I know I've raved about that mean machine of a kitchen appliance since I got it and I don't think I'll be stopping anytime soon. There's just so much to discover in the wonderful world of baking. I haven't even gone to pastries yet! As of the moment, I've only explored veggies and chicken. I've abused the art of baking my vegetables to death because it's highly convenient if you're always on the go. I prepare my veggies during the weekend and pop them in the oven when I don't have a lot of time to spend on cooking. 

I've tried baking pork in the form of Bacon-wrapped Enoki mushrooms. Because, why the hell not? Nothing ever goes wrong with bacon--well, except this. My experiments usually dwell within the confines of Chicken to vegetables. I'm a bit scared when it comes to dealing with Pork because a lot of things can go wrong. And it's not cheap too. 

I was looking for photos of food on Instagram when I chanced upon a glorious-looking image of glazed ribs from a famous restaurant here in the Metro. Seeing that, of course I wanted one for myself but it was late at night and I couldn't be bothered to look for 24/7 food hubs that can satiate my craving for ribs. When I woke up the next day, I made sure I'll be cooking ribs that day. I didn't really seek out any specific recipe, I just searched for baked ribs and this recipe came up.

First off, the recipe was absolutely delectable! The only thing I hated about it was the part where I had to clean my oven tray, lol. I also didn't know boiling your meat with a couple of ingredients can do wonders! For the side dish, I cooked carrots, baby potatoes and corn with butter, salt, pepper and basil. And tadaaaa, a sumptuous home-made meal!

I know this is too major to go unnoticed so I'll just put this out there--my plating sucks, hahaha! Phew, there. You don't have to rub it in. I know I have to invest in pretty but quality plates and cutlery. But I just love this black, square plastic plate so much, lol! I also have to learn the seemingly effortless technique of putting food on the plate that somehow magically transforms into art. This recipe is perfect if you're planning to have a backyard lunch with your family timely apt for the long weekend! As for me, I'll be enjoying the cold breeze of Tagaytay and see where it goes from there.
